"HANDICAP" according to the dictionary means, in a competition, is a disadvantage imposed on a competitor to make the chances of success more nearly equal for all. That concept is one of the reasons that lead us to consider GOLF as the right sport for people with "Special Needs". We all have that advantage to confront the challenges when we are born with all our senses and abilities in perfect condition. Handicap, as to golf rules, enables the beginner to have a certain advantage and the fewer you know how to play the more vantage you get. Because of that, this sport respects the diversity of capacities equalizing the opportunities of all allowing us to join people with different capabilities without modifying the individual game. That has became one of the principles of our school: join people who have Special Needs with "normal" people. Another important aspect to consider is its relation with Math using all the time distance(near, far), height (as to which club to choose), strength (according to the location of the link) and direction concepts (right, left, e.g.). But also there are other ways to rehabilitate like rotation (waist, arms, shoulders) and achieving more concentration which are not only useful to make a great swing but they can also be put into practice in their daily activities. GOLF teach us how to react to the challenges of each hit and as in life you cannot attach yourself to your last move, you must go on to the next hit leaving the last one behind. Everything we do it is to use both on the course and in other activities such as work, studies, e.g. The physical and psychological exercises are specially prepared for them to gain self confidence, increase their potentials. In our school we also work on the social aspects such as family, achievements of each, we celebrate birth dates, special dates (holidays), we organize excursions to theater for example and golf tournaments visiting different courses. Taking into account their families, the impact it has in them its huge because as golf is considered an elitist and difficult sport they have the chance to play it placing themselves and also their families in a privilege place among the society. In this way, they are integrated in order to live in society not being isolated in an special environment designed only for them, but interacting in a system whereby people live together in community. Finally, it has a huge impact among the society and their environment. By means of it, they have the chance to learn how to live/behave in society and to share knowledge among other things. We provide them with all the tools necessaries for them to include themselves in a certain work or school acting confidently and having successful results and encouraging replies for others. Integration is a "feed-back" process where both special and normal people learn from each other in order to live harmonically, respect the individualities and get advantage from the differences.
